Huawei has recently unveiled its latest Android flagship at a London event. This new flagship consists of Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro with latest features making them a remarkable successor to the P20 Pro.
Exciting Features and Specifications of Mate 20 Flagship:
The core feature of the recent flagships by Huawei has been the stellar camera performance. The Mate 20 flagship is also equipped with camera prowess by Leica. The standard Mate 20 comes with a 16MP primary sensor with 12MP wide-angle lens and an 8MP 2x telephoto lens. While the Mate 20 Pro has a 40MP primary sensor with a 20MP secondary wide-angle lens and an 8MP 3x telephoto lens.
The company claims superior low-light performance for both the devices. The devices are further equipped with Super HDR Technology to enhance the performance in difficult lighting conditions.
Other specifications of Mate 20 include a huge teardrop-notched 6.53-inch display, Octa-core Kirin 980 CPU, 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage. Mate 20 Pro has a 6.39-inch display while rest of the specifications are same for both flagships. To expand the storage, the users can use the company’s first Nano-Memory card which is roughly the same in size to a SIM card.
The OLED display of Mate 20 measures in at 2244 x 1080 pixels with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. It also possesses an IP53 rating. Whilst the OLED display of Mate 20 Pro measures in at 3120 X 1440 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It has an IP68 rating. Both the displays are HDR10 compliant. So, the users can expect an exceptional HDR video viewing experience.
The company has also introduced new facial recognition technology in Mate 20 Pro. The 24MP front camera of Mate 20 Pro is backed up by a dot project, proximity sensor, flood illuminator, IR camera, and an ambient light sensor. They have also added a 3D Live Emoji which can react to your facial expressions. The Mate 20 comes with the same functionality but with a smaller notch size.
This latest Mate20 flagships also include an in-display fingerprint reader. It is much likely similar to the touted OnePlus 6T. Mate 20 Pro also owns the ability to charge other Qi devices with “reverse” wireless charging. The user can wirelessly charge other devices using Mate 20 pro by pressing or laying on the back of the device.
The battery life of the Mate 20 flagship is remarkable. The Mate 20 Pro comes with a mammoth 4200mAh battery. Its 40W USB Type-C fast charger is capable of charging the battery up to 70% in just half an hour. Moreover, it can also be wirelessly charged. The Mate 20 is equipped with a smaller 4,000 mAh battery. However, it doesn’t offer wireless charging.
One thing that might be disappointing for Huawei users is that the Mate 20 Pro doesn’t include a headphone jack. Instead, they have included a USB Type-C headphone jack adapter in the box for the users. The USB Type-C port is further equipped with stereo speakers for a better audio experience. On the other hand, a 3.5mm headphone jack is installed in Mate 20.
The Mate 20 Pro comes with the latest version of EMUI on-top of Android 9.0 Pie with plenty of software alterations. A wireless desktop projection system is also installed in the device. With the help of this system, you can connect your Mate 20 Pro to a mouse or keyboard. This system can also be used to connect other devices to a monitor. This system is somewhat similar to the DeX system available on Samsung S9 and Note 9 devices.
The Mate 20 flagship is available in a variant of colors including Black, Emerald Green, Pink Gold,
Midnight Blue, and signature Twilight color. The Mate 20 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration will be available in $925, while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration will be available in $980.
The company has also introduced Huawei Mate 20X during the London event. It comes with a massive 7.2-inches OLED display. It also has very slim bezels and slim notch like other Mate 20 devices. It’s packed with a 5,000mAh battery. There is a graphene-based cooling system installed in the device as well. An “M-Pen” is also included in the Mate 20X which can be used to write on the large display of the device. The Mate 20X is available for $1040 with a configuration of 6GB RAM and 128Gb storage.
With its new flagship, Huawei has become one of the fastest growing mobile companies in the market. Its Mate 20X flagship is being compared against Nintendo’s own Switch console for its remarkable features and specifications. The 1080p panel of the device is said to be capable of supporting continuous gaming for up to 6 hours which is comparatively longer than the Nintendo’s Switch. Moreover, its battery life is superior to that of the Switch.
